Security Deposits

Arlington THRIVE's Section 8 Security Deposit Loan Program provides a much-needed service to families seeking to move into federal “Section 8” rental units.

Ecumenical Community Helping Others (ECHO) provides limited emergency financial assistance for rent deposits, and emergency food to eligible persons.

Fairfax FISH provides emergency financial assistance with rent deposits.  It also provides emergency food, perishable and non-perishable, to individuals and families in need.

A state funding source for people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities moving to housing with a lease in their own name.

Limited emergency financial assistance.

Good Shepherd Housing & Family Services offers a limited grant for security deposits. Payments are made directly to the landlord.

Rental payments, security deposits, mortgage assistance.

Financial assistance to people in crisis.

Lorton Community Action Center provides new and used furniture and household goods to individuals and families in need. Financial assistance for rent deposits. Food pantry.

Old Presbyterian Meeting House occasionally provides assistance with security deposits, depending upon circumstances. Eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis. All referrals must be faxed.

One time grant to qualified Fairfax County area residents.  Free budgeting and financial literacy classes.

Our Lady Queen of Peace Church provides limited financial assistance for emergency rent payments, and security deposits. Emergency non-perishable foods.

Share, Inc.’s Family Assistance Program provides financial assistance, furniture and household supplies, and emergency food, both perishable and non-perishable.

St. Mary of Sorrows Catholic Church helps build one-time financial packages for emergency assistance. Non-perishable emergency food to families and individuals in need.
